Lawrenceville, NJ (Loucks Ice Center) - West Point once again saddled up and earned a road victory, rolling to a 7-0 victory over The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) Lions (DII). Army's cadets returned from Thanksgiving to grind out a 1-0 first period margin, then erupted for three goals in both the second and third periods.

In the first, Army peppered the Lions goaltender with 22 shots but notched the period's only goal at 13:02. Defenseman Jeffery Johnston got his first goal of the year, assisted by team captain Nick Pappas and Mitch Deritter. Army outshot TCNJ 22 to 6 in the period.

Alex Voronovich led West Point's 3-goal second period barrage, sandwiching two goals around an unassisted goal by Thane Heller. Heller added an assist on Voronovich's first goal, and Cory Miller provided helpers on both Voronovich goals. Shots were more balanced but 10-6 in favor of Army.

West Point's cadet squad finished off the Lions with another 3-goal period in the third. Voronovich completed a hat trick on the power play with an assist by Chris Callahan who appeared in his first game of the season. Drew Lysakowski and William Jacques netted the other goals, both with primary assists from defenseman Zach Cohen. Matt Ouellette added an assist on Jacques' goal.

Outshooting the Lions 56-14, Army's pressure was outshined by its goaltending and defense. Nico Candelmo backstopped the team to the shutout win as Army smothered TCNJ's offensive campaign. Army converted 1 of 2 powerplays and was perfect on the penalty kill, blanking the Lions on three odd-man advantages.
